Ans. Griffin was a brilliant scientist. He carried several experiments related to invisibility of human beings. At last he proved by his experiments that human body could become transparent like a sheet of glass. Then he swallowed certain rare drugs and he became invisible. Griffin was rather a lawless person. His landlord disliked him. So he set fire to the house. He misused his discovery to rob the persons. He was not a man of loving nature. He disliked friendship. He refused the friendship of Mrs. Hall. He robbed the clergyman. He became angry when someone disturbed him. He hit the constable and other persons. He tried to terrify Mrs. Hall too. Hence we can say that Griffin was a brilliant scientist, but he misused his discovery. He was a lawless and criminal-minded person.

Ans. Horace Danby was about fifty years old, He was unmarried. He was a healthy man. But he had attacks of hay fever in summer. He earned his living by making' lockers. He was successful at his business. He had two helpers. Thus he was good and respectable.
He loved rare expensive books. So he robbed one sale every year to buy such books. He was a successful thief. He planned his robberies well. In this way he was not completely honest. He was not a hard core thief. He felt nervous when he saw the
young lady in red. He was foolish enough to believe her. FHe took his gloves off. He broke open the safe. He gave her all the jewels After two days he was arrested for the robbery. Thus he was outwitted by another thief.

Ans. Mr. Herriot knew that Tricky was not suffering from any serious ailment. It was a victim of overeating and lack of physical exercise. He took Tricki to his surgery. He kept it with other dogs It showed no interest in other dogs. Other dogs of the surgery also found it to be an uninteresting partner to play with. For two days Tricki was not given any food to eat but plenty of water.
At the end of the second day, Tricki showed some interest in its surroundings. Alter the third day, Joe, the greyhound, showed interest in it. It befriended Tricki after sniffing and rolling him over. Soon Tricki started enjoying their company. Tricki had to try hard to get its food among other dogs. Next day an extra bowl was put out for him. Soon it started playing with other dogs. Limited diet and plenty of physical exercise improved s condition. Tricki had been transformed into a lithe hard muscled animal. Mrs. Pumphery said with joy that it was all the triumph of Mr Herriot's Surgery

Ans. Ausable was Secret Agent. But he did not look like that. He was very fat and not much tall. He spoke German and French with an Amencan accent. Although he was, physically dull, he was very quick mentally. He took decision fastly. Actually he was a spy who took much work from his mind. He had an important papar on Missile. Max, his rival secret agent, wanted to take that paper on his Gur. Point. Max demanded for the paper but Ausable did not show any nervousness. At last he outwit Max by his mental power. Thus Ausable was a man of courage and peaceful mind. He had capacity to change inverse conditions into his account. Thus we see that Ausable was a Spy with Active Mind.

Ans. Mrs. Pumphrey loved her dog Tricki too much. She cared for it like a child. She gave Tricki all types of luxurious things. Tricki was given extra food. Special food and every sort of clothing was given to it. Tricki had separate beds, separate bowls. Tricki led a very comfortable and luxurious life. It did not do any work. All the time it ate. So, eating all the time and doing no work made it very fat. This resulted in its falling ill. Mrs. Pumphrey got warried. She immediately called Mr. Herriot a veterinary surgeon for the dog's treatment. So, it was Mrs. Pumphrey excess love that led to its falling very ill.

The thief steals Anil's money.

It was very cold and he slipped into a big store in London. He broke open boxes and packets. He stole food and clothes. Then he went to another shop. He stole things as well as money. He hit the shopkeeper and ran away. Then he went to a village inn. There he stole money from a clergyman's house. A policeman was called in to arrest him. Now Griffin took off his clothes. He became invisible. Griffin was not a true scientist. He gave blows to anyone who tried to catch him. All this shows that Griffin was a lawless person. He was not a true scientist as he misused a scientific discovery.

Ans. Ausable is a secret agent with a difference. He does not look smart and energetic. He is "very fat" and "sloppy". His accent is not proper. He speaks French and German with an American accent. It is because of his unimpressive look that Fowler is disappointed with him in the beginning.

Ans. Actual name of Bholi was Sulekha but since her childhood every one had been calling her Bohli, the simpleton. She was the fourth daughter of Numberdar Ramlal. When she was ten months old, she had fallen of the cot on her head and perhaps it damaged some part of her brain. Due to this she was suffering from mental weakness. Again, when she was two years old, she had an attack of small pox. Except her eyes, her entire body was permanently disfigured by deep black pock-marks. She stammered, so she talked very little.
But education brought a new change in her personality. Now she could speak fluently. She was a bold girl and she had self respect. Therefore, she refused to marry a rich man Bishamber. She was a parent loving girl and hence she decided to stay with her parents to look after in their old age.

Ans. Horace Danby decided to rob Shotover Grange's safe. He studied the house, electric wiring, paths and garden. He was confident that he would rob it successfully. So he entered there to rob the safe. Horace was getting ready to break open the safe, just then, a woman dressed in red, appeared at the door. She posed herself to be the mistress of the household. She threatened that she would call police. Horace requested her to let him go. He was ready to do anything. She told him that she had come to take her jewels but had forgotten the numbers of the safe. She asked him to open the safe for her. Horace had to open it. He forgot to wear his gloves. The lady possessed all the jewels. He left his fingerprints everywhere. He was arrested by the police for the robbery.
Thus we can say that the lady in red turned out to be smarter and cleverer than Horace Danby.

Ans. Dr. Herriot treats the dog very intelligently. According to Dr. Herriot the 'cure was to regulate Tricki's lifestyle. When Mes Pumphery fails to follow his advice, he suggests that Tricki must be hospitalised. Dr. Herriot gave him required diet at the fixed time. He was made to play with other dogs. Thus limited food and physical exercise was the 'cure' for Tricki.

Ans. After setting fire to the landlord's house, Griffin wished to get away without being seen. Therefore, he had to remove his clothes. After this he wandered around without clothes, without money and without a shelter.

Ans. Matilda was a young beautiful lady. She was born in the family of clerks and was married to a clerk. She always suffered from poverty both at the homes of her husband and parents.
She was a tactful lady but short-tempered. She convinced her poor husband to buy her a party dress simply by rejecting the invitation to the ball. She was of showy nature and loved luxuries. She borrowed a necklace only to be noticed by the spectators. She suffered from poverty for ten years. She ever remained industrious (cesnveleer). She was net a satisfied character.

Ans. Anil was about twenty five. He was a tall and lean fellow. He was kind, simple-hearted and easy-going. Ha used to write for magazines. So his income was not regular and certain. He lived alone in a small room. He used to do cooking himself. He was careless in money matters. When he got money, he used to spend it with an open heart. When he didn't have it, would live silently. He was fond of seeing wrestling matches. He met the thief Hari Singh in one such match. But Anil had a trusting nature. He trusted Hari Singh easily. He offered him the key of his room. He had a forgiving nature. He didn't mind being cheated by Hari Singh. He changed Hari Singh's heart by trust, compassion and his readiness to teach him.

Ans. Many extraordinary things happen at the inn. First, money is stolen from the clergyman's desk. Then Mrs. Hall (the landlord's wife) had a strange experience. Mrs Hall heard a sniff close to her ear. After a moment the hat on the bedpost flew up and dashed into her face. Then the bedroom chair began to float in the air. Everybody thought that the house was haunted by spirits.
